Vehicle Safety & Mobility
Vehicle suppliers are transforming the future of transportation through developments in systems and components, such as advanced crash avoidance and automated driving systems that make vehicles, vehicle occupants and the roadway safer. The industry needs a thoughtful and robust policy framework to deploy these technologies most effectively.
MEMA urges policymakers to conduct oversight to ensure that NHTSA and the FMCSA meet requirements of the bipartisan infrastructure legislation, create a single national framework for automated vehicles, and immediately permit deployment of cellular vehicle-to-everything technology by approving requests to the FCC’s rule to open access to the 5.895-5.925 GHz band.
