Right to Repair In-District Meeting Resources
R2R In-District Meetings
Use this process to schedule your meeting.
The process begins with calling the legislator’s scheduler and following up that call with a written request. Use this letter for your request and copy the MEMA DC Team.
Keep in mind that schedulers are always balancing many requests. If you do not hear back within a week, please follow up with a call to the scheduler.
After the scheduler finalizes your meeting date, let the MEMA DC team know the details.
There are a few things you should do to prepare for the meeting; these are outlined in a meeting prep guide.
MEMA will provide you with talking points and any “leave behind” materials to give the legislator. We are happy to hold prep calls with you or your team.
On your meeting day, your preparation will pay off! Remember a few do’s and don’ts.
Thank you for coordinating your meeting! The final steps in the process are thanking the legislator and their staff and providing feedback to MEMA’s DC team:
- Complete our short feedback form to let us how it went.
- If the legislator had questions that you need to follow up on, prepare your answer. If you need help or research support, please contact Carter Salwin.
- Use our templates to send thank-you notes to your member of Congress and their staff. If there were follow-up questions you need to answer, include them in your letter.
