Welcome to the new MEMA Original Equipment Suppliers quarterly newsletter, The Road Ahead. This publication will provide timely and relevant content on MEMA OE programming and industry information.     

As you may know, we unveiled MEMA’s new membership strategy and brand at the beginning of this year. What was originally four divisions under the MEMA structure (AASA, HDMA, MERA, and OESA), is now two membership groups: MEMA Original Equipment Suppliers and MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers. Membership in the Original Equipment Suppliers group is for light- and heavy-duty suppliers and the Aftermarket Suppliers group is comprised of aftermarket light- and heavy-duty suppliers as well as remanufacturing suppliers.

As part of the new MEMA Original Equipment Suppliers, members have access to a wider range of programming and industry thought leadership, including more content focused on the heavy-duty commercial vehicle industry. This broader membership strategy opens new resources and network opportunities in addition to the benefits you already have from your membership.
MEMA Chairman and Gold Eagle CEO Marc Blackman said it best during the press conference announcing these changes last month: 

"Gold Eagle was really focused on the automotive aftermarket side at AASA. We now have the exposure and understanding of all the different issues that are coming about with the heavy-duty side, with the remanufacturing side, and all those communities — and also we have exposure now to the OE [original equipment] side." 

Marc's example shows how members can now interact more fully with MEMA. "As one of [the] 65% [of] smaller [MEMA] members, there is absolutely no way a smaller member can really see the fullest potential of their own business and the market potential without an association like MEMA; and what these changes have enabled," Marc continued.
