Dear MEMA OE Members,
When MEMA announced our new tagline, “Strong by Association,” in January, along with the launch of the new MEMA Original Equipment group, we had a vision to create a supplier community that would showcase the expansive range of capabilities, customers, and technologies across both light vehicle and commercial vehicle suppliers. As I reflect on the past year, I’m proud to share that we have accomplished many firsts in pursuit of our vision and that the years ahead are poised to be exciting for our members.
One noteworthy achievement worth highlighting is our recent Volvo Group Trucks Town Hall. We witnessed an impressive turnout, with over 250 registered attendees and phenomenal support from the Volvo team. What made this event even more groundbreaking is that 60% of those in attendance were not members of the former HDMA. Nearly two thirds of attendees came from the former OESA or AASA, or were not previously affiliated with any of the legacy MEMA associations.
This event was just one of the many instances in 2023 highlighting the strength of the new MEMA OE Suppliers group. In our council meetings, we have seen members from the former HDMA group integrate seamlessly into former OESA councils including the HR, Purchasing, and Finance Councils. In addition, just this month, MEMA D.C. led the effort to help ease shipping constraints at the U.S.-Mexico border on behalf of all of our supplier members.
As we close on 2023, I want to thank you, our members, for trusting us to continue moving our association and industry forward. Your support and commitment have been instrumental in our collective success.
