MEMA Submits GHG Regulation Feedback to CARB
MEMA submitted feedback on October 16 to the California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) Advanced Clean Car II (ACC II) workshop, which was held last month. CARB’s ACC II program encompasses light vehicle greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), criteria pollutant emissions, and zero emissions vehicle (ZEV) targets in post-2025. The workshop presentation posed specific elements for feedback such as continuing credits for low-global warming potential refrigerants, new criteria emission testing procedures and standards, and ZEV assurance measures. CARB’s September 2020 workshop will be one of several workshops leading up to a formal ACC II proposal from CARB in late 2021.
MEMA plans to engage as much as possible and provide feedback throughout the process through 2021. MEMA staff contact: Laurie Holmes
