MEMA Hosts Supplier Roundtable with Senior Officials from the U.S. Department of the Treasury at ZF Fowlerville Plant
Washington, D.C., June 4, 2024 – Today, MEMA, The Vehicle Suppliers Association partnered with the U.S. Department of Treasury to host a supplier roundtable. The roundtable was held at MEMA's member company, ZF at their Fowlerville Plant located in Fowlerville, MI.
The roundtable provided a unique opportunity for industry leaders to engage directly with Laurel Blatchford, Chief Implementation Officer, Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), and Rachel McCleery, Senior Advisor, Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) Program Office. Blatchford and McCleery shared insights into the latest developments and fostered a platform for dialogue and exchange of ideas.
The event was attended by several MEMA member companies, including: Denso Corporation, Detroit Manufacturing Systems (DMS), Eaton Corporation, Aptiv, MAHLE, Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems, Arconic, BASF, ZF, and Forvia. Representatives from each company had the opportunity to introduce themselves and their businesses, focusing on key areas such as their engagement in the clean energy space, planned adjustments or growth within the clean energy sector, and the IRA initiatives of greatest interest to their companies.
Treasury officials, McCleery and Blatchford, expressed a strong interest in learning more about the industry and the participating companies. They outlined their purpose for visiting, emphasizing the importance of understanding how businesses are adapting to and benefiting from the IRA.

The roundtable covered critical aspects of the IRA and focused on enhancing industry awareness and understanding of the various programs available and leveraging opportunities for growth and innovation.
