Chairman of the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) to speak during Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA)’s Supply Chain & Operations Forum Meeting
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – AASA’s Supply Chain & Operations (SCO) Forum announced today that Daniel Maffei, Chairman, Federal Maritime Commission, will speak to the group on November 14, 2022. Mr. Maffei will speak on top issues facing the FMC, including implementation of the Ocean Shipping Reform Act, status of the overall ports/shipping crisis, and the work of the FMC’s National Shipper Advisor Council.
“We are thrilled to have Mr. Maffei join our meeting and share with our executive membership how the FMC is managing challenges throughout the supply chain crisis,” commented Chris Gardner, senior vice president, AASA, and executive lead of the SCO Forum. “We’ve seen innovation and problem solving on a large scale throughout the crisis, allowing the aftermarket to continue to grow despite the headwinds. Hearing from the Chairman of the FMC will allow attendees front-row access to one of the most important elements of a successful supply chain strategy. This is a terrific opportunity.”
The FMC is an independent commission that regulates the commercial aspects of international ocean shipping coming into and going out of the United States. AASA’s SCO Forum is a peer-to-peer networking group focused on learning about and discussing the challenges facing suppliers in procuring raw materials and components, in-bound and out-bound movement of goods, logistics, shipping, labor, automated warehousing, packaging, etc.
Registration is open to SCO Forum members, AASA and MEMA members, and non-members.
