AASA Technology Council Announces Winning Think Tank
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association’s (“AASA”) Technology Council (“ATC”) announced the second annual winning ATC Think Tank presentation during the 2022 AASA Technology Conference. The Emerging Vehicle Technologies team was selected as the top group presenting challenges and solutions that could benefit the automotive aftermarket today. The winner was selected via voting by members during the recent ATC Fall meeting.
Group members include:
Ben Johnson, Mitchell 1 (Executive Committee Sponsor)
Jeff Marshall, Pricedex Software
Mark Hough, East Penn Batteries
Andrew Ciszczon, Freudenberg-NOK Sealing
Joshua Dumas, Mann+Hummel
Kristen Anostas, Blokios
Adam Sworski, Valvoline
Scott Tompkins, Epicor
The Emerging Vehicle Technologies Team determined that a deeper dive into electrification and ADAS technologies would provide the industry with some thought-provoking insight, and, accordingly, produced four whitepapers as Volume 2 of the Emerging Technologies Series: “Power Systems – Li-Ion Batteries and the Circular Economy,” “Electrification and National Security of the Mineral Supply,” “Introduction to the Blockchain,” and “B2B-B2C…Don’t Forget O2O.” They also partnered with the strategic planning and research branch of AASA and PwC in the second annual ADAS/EV Survey, to help take the industry pulse on opportunities and threats facing the industry with emergent technology.
“Year two did not disappoint! With over 50 members in five think tanks, we have provided an avenue for our members to join in on topics they are passionate about,” Marylou Hornung, director of sales operations for Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems and chair of the ATC. “This year’s winner, Emerging Vehicle Technologies, built on the foundation that was started in 2021 and their white paper, along with the others, will be sure to provide information and provoke thoughts on the subject matter. This forward-thinking team captured the topics that are top of mind for all our member companies, creating useful information that can be used by current and future members to reference and share within their organizations.”
The ATC Executive Committee is now selecting the 2023 Think Tank topics. Information on joining the 2023 Think Tanks, open only to ATC members, will be available on aftermarketsuppliers.org.
