AASA Technology Conference to Explore Digital Products
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Attendees at the 2019 AASA Technology Conference will explore unique ways to develop and introduce new aftermarket products. Charles Vaillant, Chief Technology Officer for Mann+Hummel, will present on “Developing Digital Aftermarket Products” at the event, which will be held Sept. 29 – Oct.1 in Boca Raton, Fla.
Mann+Hummel, a leading filtration system manufacturer, established a technology innovation unit in Raleigh, N.C., to evaluate, develop and commercialize digital solutions. Its focus is the commercialization of new products and services – concentrating on filters or new product areas – in three to five years.
A recent development by the manufacturer was the use of sensors in filter systems that monitor the pressure differential across a filter media to enable the determination of when a filter system is nearing the end of its useful life.
“An increasing number of new products are being developed with connected vehicle technologies in mind,” said Chris Gardner, Senior Vice President of AASA and the Executive Director of the AASA Technology Council (ATC). “Mann+Hummel is one AASA member that is utilizing non-traditional methods and organizations to bring innovation to aftermarket products – including technologies that in the future will connect vehicle part/system performance to aftermarket supply chain transactional processes.”
