- MEMA advocates for the passage of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.
- Answering the Call for Collaboration: MEMA establishes first of its many councils: Transportation Safety Equipment Institute (TSEI), MEMA Information Services Council, and Automotive Public Relations Council (APRC).
- Increasing Technology: MEMA directs the creation of TransNet in 1977.

- 2018-2020: Leading up to the USMCA's ratification, MEMA plays a pivotal role in advocating for the agreement's provisions that specifically benefit the automotive supply chain. - Enhance the rules of origin requirements to ensure a higher percentage of vehicle content is sourced from within the USMCA region

- 2020-2024: MEMA addresses challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasizing the resilience and adaptability of the vehicle supply chain. The association also plays a critical role in advocating for policies that support the recovery and growth of the automotive industry, including incentives for EV manufacturing and infrastructure development.
- MEMA's Center for Sustainability is established to advance and support sustainability initiatives and assist suppliers in navigating the landscape of sustainability.
- MEMA takes bold steps in a realignment to position the organization for the future creating greater access to thought leadership, networking, and research for suppliers.
2025 and Beyond
- MEMA will continue to hold true to the original purpose for which it was founded, to advance the business interests of suppliers and create a growing, profitable, innovative, and influential supplier community.
