Carter Salwin
Carter Salwin is MEMA’s Senior Manager of Grassroots and Member Outreach. MEMA, the Vehicle Suppliers Association, is the voice of the automotive and commercial vehicle supplier industry—the largest sector of manufacturing jobs in the United States.
Carter is a part of the association’s Washington office, where he is responsible for MEMA’s grassroots initiatives, membership engagement, state legislation tracking, federal immigration policy, as well as assisting the DC team on a variety of policy areas. Carter also helps in the planning and execution of the MEMA DC Legislative Summit.
Carter joined MEMA in 2022. Prior to joining MEMA, he worked in the U.S. House of Representatives as a Legislative Assistant for Congressman John Moolenaar and former Congressman Tom Reed. Highlights of his legislative portfolio included appropriations, tax, transportation, energy, environment, and immigration, and labor amongst others.
Carter attended Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan where he was born and raised. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science.
